The Finnish Reskilling Lab of the RESCALE project has been launched in Helsinki. The lab, called TyövisLab, is implemented in close collaboration with Helsinki Adult Education Centre and Helsinki Vocational College (Stadin AO).
Participants are adult learners enrolled in preparatory education for programmes leading to upper secondary qualifications (TUVA). Many of the learners have a migrant background and are currently at an important transition point in their educational pathway. They are strengthening their digital, study and language skills while preparing for upper secondary studies and workplace training.
TyövisLab provides a supportive learning environment that combines practical learning with the development of essential skills and learner wellbeing. The teaching approach is language-aware and language-supported, ensuring that participants can develop their skills while continuing to build their Finnish language competence. Participants are also offered personal guidance on course-related topics.
The Lab focuses on:
- strengthening essential digital skills
- integrating practical green skills into everyday learning
- supporting wellbeing, self-confidence and language development
- creating opportunities for success and positive learning experiences
Participants also have the opportunity to earn national skills badges that recognise the development of their digital competences.
TyövisLab is not only about developing skills. It supports adults at a turning point in their learning journey by strengthening their confidence, capabilities and readiness for the next step in education and working life.
